Venice lagoons are confronting critical issues of marsh loss and subsidence. The dredge sediments, which could be the material for marsh construction, are polluted from the industrialized areas, ground surface runoff and vessels, causing a threat to lagoon ecosystem.
The team intends to revitalize the lagoon by a park of which the main function is sediment cleaning. In our design, the dredged soil is collected and relocated to a deposit that is transformed from a warehouse before moving into a park for multiple-stage purification. The waste water and solid materials could be used for the nearby fishpond and saline farmland. Purified material is first used as raw material for rebuilding red beach and serves as filling materials for artificial wetland park nearby.
